When a designer wants to attract the general public, or at least the part of the population for which the collection is created, many ideas have to pass through his head and hands. Of course, it all depends on his talent, but also on several other factors. Slovakia has been slowly becoming famous for its fashion designers. We should be proud of the clothes that are being designed with a touch of Slovakia in each piece.
Fashion. It is an art, a career, a passion, and a lifestyle. Fashion can promote creativity, which is very important to culture, society, and religion. Also, it makes you look and feel amazing. Fashion plays an important role in an indivi¬dual’s life because it is considered to be a form of self-expression. Not everybody sees it that way though. If I had to think about one specific person that has changed my view on fashion, it would be Alexa Chung.
People claim that Vienna is not a city of fashion. Unlike Milan or Paris, it does not have a long standing Fashion Week tradition, and no presence of the world’s most popular designers. Nowadays, Vienna is bustling with its very own designers and new fashion, setting the mark for themselves both at home in Austria and overseas.
In 2005, Naomi Campbell established Fashion For Relief and hosted its first charity fashion show to raise funds for victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Since its conception in 2005, Fashion For Relief has presented shows in New York, London, Cannes, Moscow, and Mumbai. It has raised millions for various causes.
Autumn is coming. This means that it is cold outside and leaves are falling off the trees. It also means something different. The biggest fashion event of the year is held in Slovakia, Bratislava Fashion Days. This year's Fashion Days took place from the 13th to the 15th of October in the Bratislava Refinery Gallery. The Refinery Gallery is a rebuilt industrial building. More than 30 designers and brands from Slovakia and abroad were presented at this event.
